(Surry County, Va.) — Join us on July 6 & 7, 2019 to help mark the 400th Anniversary of the Chippokes Plantation. The 7th Virginia Regiment reenacting units will be hosting a recreation of the small skirmish that occurred on the old Chippokes Road and the battle of Green Springs on the actual anniversary of those events. Guests will be able to tour the living history camps surrounding the historic Jones-Stewart Mansion, shop in the colonial sutlery camp, enjoy hearth cooking demonstrations in the historic brick kitchen and more. Camps to open to the public at 9 a.m. and assorted historical programs, including Women of Chippokes, Walnut Valley tours, Chippokes at Play and Quarter Lane by Candlelight, will be offered throughout the weekend.
