Sundays at Four presents an all-American program for flute and piano on Sunday, Sept. 11, featuring Kathleen Winters, a Newport News native who just received her doctorate in flute performance and has taken a teaching position at Drake University in Iowa. Her chosen American repertoire will be a fitting tribute on the fifteenth anniversary of a sad day in American history.
Featured performers are:
Leah Shewmaker, mezzo-soprano
Jacob Cunningham, clarinet
Eliza Willett, violin
Kyle Hu, piano
Jared Robles, flute
Anna Heffington, soprano
Held at Historic Christ Episcopal Church, this concert features outstanding classically, or Jazz-trained teen musicians selected by live, or CD audition from throughout the entire Coastal Virginia area. Sundays at Four provides a venue where area professionals and recognized students can perform and share their art. Many students who have performed on this program are now at the most prestigious music schools and conservatories in the country.
